I bought this book after hearing the author interviewed on a local NPR show. I thought the recipes looked suspiciously quick and easy but worth a try. I made two recipes from the book, the honey nut shortbread and the bittersweet chocolate drops. I thought both came out very bland. I would never make them again. Not sure if I should try other recipes from this book or not. I've baked for decades and love making all kinds of desserts. Since the author is a James Beard Award winner, I was expecting something so much better. Too bad.
