David's recipes are easy to follow, yummy delights, and many in the book will become life-time favorites for you! I love his Orange Bean Cake (it has 2 cups of beans). It is so delicious and you can "have cake for dinner" with this healthly, wonderful cake.
He starts out in chapter 1 describing some of the basics like stocking your pantry, transitioning to a vegan diet, raising Vegan childern (which David has done), explains protein, calcium, and iron. The majority of the book has over 200 recipes including:
Beverages
Grains, Cereals, and Noodles
Salds and Dressings
Cheesy (excellent, inexpensive homemade vegan cheeses)
Dips, Sauces, and Condiments
Oven cooking
Soups and Stews,
Wraps, Patties, and Sandwiches
From the Skillet
Sweets
At the end of the book he includes useful references including recommended resources, index, and measurements. There are no pictures and it is in David's easy-reading text format to keep the price for the book very affordable.
Most of the recipes are gluten-free and all of them are really easy and quick to make for yourself and family/friends. Being a vegan has never been so easy with David's recipes. Love this book and so glad to finally see it published. Also, if you live in Washington or Oregon, catch a class or two; so much fun and good eats/samples too.
